The Agency took the single-use plastics conversations to Lethem, Region 9. Four conversations were conducted with students, Regional Officials as well as, residents of various villages within Region 9. The interactive and informative conversations were held at the St. Ignatius Primary School and Secondary Schools, respectively, Regional Democratic Council and the St. Ignatius benab during the heritage celebrations held in Lethem.

Concerns were raised on whether there are adequate and appropriate alternatives to replace the items proposed for the ban. Residents also expressed optimism of the economic opportunities villages can garner from the use of natural materials available in some communities ,which can be used to make alternatives such as, bags and baskets. They were also adamant that monitoring and enforcement will be critical to the successful implementation of the ban.
