The Environmental Protection Agency as the country’s lead regulatory Agency for Environmental management in Guyana, has the responsibility to ensure that the public is informed about environmental issues and promote public participation in matters of environmental management and biodiversity conservation.

The Agency continued its public awareness drive by hosting a second “Meet the public” activity on the Essequibo Coast at Anna Regina during August  . Once again, patrons visiting the booth were given the opportunity to interact with officers from the various programme areas, and submit their complaints.

Officers including the Executive Director also took the opportunity to meet with regional officials to discuss the Agency’s plans in the region, synergize efforts, and cement plans for EPA’s regional office which is expected to be established soon.
