East Bank- East Coast Road Linkage Project – Scoping Meeting

The Agency in partnership with the Ministry of Public Infrastructure (MOPI) conducted three public scoping meetings in January in preparation for the East Bank- East Coast Road Linkage Project. These public meetings were held at New Diamond/Grove Primary school, North Ruimveldt Multilateral and Ogle Community Centre, respectively. Members of the public were given the opportunity to learn more about the project, share questions and concerns on how the project might affect them and most importantly, they were given the opportunity to offer recommendations on how the road can be improved.

The project summary can be accessed from the EPA’s website. The Ministry of Public Infrastructure (MOPI) will be undertaking the construction of East Bank- East Coast Road Linkage Project. The main Green Field alignment starts from the Rupert Craig Highway on the East Coast and ends at the  extension of Great Diamond Road on the East Bank Public Road. The Agency has determined that an Environmental Impact Assessment ( EIA) has to be done for this project before an Environmental Authorisation can be granted.
